MDF
The raw material for our MDF panels is high-quality timber from the thinning of indigenous forests. MDF from Kronotex GmbH & Co. KG is manufactured exclusively from conifers (pine, spruce) from which the bark has been removed.

The medium density fibreboard from Kronotex is characterised by a consistently high quality of fibre and its light colour. Removing the bark completely and effective washing of the wood chip can reduce the content of mineral components, sand for example, to less than 0.02%. The MDF panels manufactured by Kronotex thereby possess a high degree of processing quality and also fulfil the most stringent requirements. State-of-the-art high-performance refiners and a two-stage fibre drying process produce carefully dried ultrafine fibreboard. In two state-of-the-art continuous presses, the fibres are compacted with adhesive resin.

Time-consuming control technology produces a timber material which fulfils the requirements of the customer in terms of format, bulk density and a high degree of mechanical stability.

G.S.M. measuring equipment measures the amount of material and monitors the evenness of the spread and density in the MDF panels. The bulk density of the MDF panel is a decisive factor in the quality of the panel. Equipment which measures the density profile analyses the bulk density profile online during production. Surface grinding takes place on two ultra-modern 6-head broadband grinding machines with granulation of 150, so that surface qualities are produced which are suitable for all types of varnish.

Due to their high quality, MDF panels from Kronotex are suitable for a multitude of applications for which solid wood and other timber materials are inadequate or completely unsuitable. The MDF serves as a base material for various types of coatings – varnishes, coverings, HPL and CPL, cases, veneer and melamine.

MDF - MDF (medium density fibre board) for general use; for use in dry areas.

98 percent - of the materials used in manufacturing are recently harvested pine. The remainder of the materials are derived from recently harvested hardwoods. No old timber or recycled materials are used.

EMB - - Kronotex MDF satisfies all EMB (European MDF Board) technical standards.

We can also supply the following upon request:

MDF - panel quality - bulk density ca. 690-810 kg/m³
HDF - - highly compacted fibre board - bulk density ca. 870-880 kg/m³
