Pine trees fresh from the forest of the Mark Brandenburg form the main component of the OSB panels manufactured in Heiligengrabe. This type of tree provides a light and natural appearance, is particularly highly resinous and occurs in adequate quantities in a surrounding area of approx. 150 km during thinning, that is during forest maintenance.
Low emission technologies and the commitment to the ecocycle are most important above all. In detail that means that the outgoing air is cleaned using an electrostatic wet-type filter system and extremely modern dust filter system. Any water that accumulates is used several times after cleaning using the latest methods (decanter).
Additionally rainwater is pumped out of an internal pond and used in production. Fossil fuels such as gas or oil will no longer be burnt in the future in the newly developed power station instead materials resulting from woodworking and processing and which meet the strict criteria of the bio mass ruling will be used.
