Kronotherm DF 50
- Pressure-resistant insulation

Kronotherm DF 50 is a stable and pressure-resistant wood fibre insulation material in accordance with DIN EN 13 171 and German technical approval Z-23.15-1581.

Kronotherm DF 50 has a density of approx. 135 kg/m³ and a compression strength of more than 50 kPa at 10% compression. The panel is thus far superior in terms of resistance to pressure than other insulating panels with the same density.
The flat smooth surface and low tolerances makes Kronotherm DF 50 particularly suitable for use as a heat insulation panel under stone floors.

The predestined use is as on-roof insulation using screws. In terms of compression strength Kronotherm DF 50 corresponds to standard multi-layered adhesive wood fibre panels manufactured by the wet procedure for insulation purposes.
Kronotherm DF 50
represents, together with Kronotherm DP (roof panel), an economical opportunity to install on-rafter insulation in new buildings and in terms of portfolio modernisation.

Kronotherm DF 50
is manufactured in an environmentally-friendly way and with very little use of energy whereby the CO2 cycle is virtually closed over the entire life of the product.

Kronotherm DF 50 stands out especially due to its very pleasant touch, ease of processing, is kind to the skin, open diffusion and excellent heat accumulation capacity.
The high sorption capacity of natural wood fibres means that Kronotherm DF 50 makes a crucial contribution to a pleasant atmospheric environment. Kronotherm DF 50 can absorb and then release again large quantities of moisture without changing its structure and without any deterioration in its insulation characteristics.

Special features

  • Pressure-resistant one-layer wood fibre insulating material with excellent
    insulating ability
  • Very good heat accumulation capacity for excellent summer heat protection
  • Excellent atmospheric environment due to humidity-regulating features
  • High-grade diffusion open to vapour
  • Pleasant to touch and kind to the skin
  • Excellent sound absorption
  • Manufactured ecologically and in an environmentally friendly way from thinnings
  • Easy to handle and process
  • Can be used universally as dry screed floor panels and on-rafter insulation
  • Recyclable
  • Has received construction inspection approval and is monitored independently

Processing

  • Cut with electric crosscut saw, circular saw and band saw
  • Wear a dust mask when machine cutting
  • If being used as on-rafter insulation, lay on dry, load-distributing underfloor
  • Attach non-slip boards near verge flashing and eaves to hold in position
  • Avoid cross joints and make sure they adjoin closely
  • Fit a water-bearing sublevel immediately after fitting
  • Regular screws are required for attachment

Storage, transportation

  • Stand the package on a secure surface when cutting the film packaging in order
      to avoid accidents
  • Store and assemble in a dry atmosphere
  • Do not stack pallets on top of one another
