02.11.2007 - Kronoply Magnum Board in the South of France
In the summer, a family house was built near Marseille using Kronoply Magnum Board. The floor plate, all walls and the roof of the single-storey building consist of Magnum Board elements 100 mm in thickness. The external walls were insulated and plastered with a thermal insulation composite system. The roof was covered with a “monk and nun” roofing which is customary in this place. The floor plate was left inside in the form of a finished, visible floor covering and sealed with parquet varnish.
Particularly impressive is the high degree of thermal insulation in the summer, which is of particular importance in the South of France. The Kronoply Magnum Board construction proved itself this summer which was extremely hot in this region. As can be seen from the photos, the outside temperature was over 40°C – this is the maximum temperature which the thermometer can measure. By contrast, the inside temperature was a bearable 25°C - without air conditioning!
