24.10.2007 - Laminate floors – floor coverings with a good ecological profile
Laminate floors are high-quality floor coverings which can be used for the decorative design of interior rooms. The floors are composed predominantly of natural wood and an environmentally-friendly resin glue. Aside from their positive usage properties, laminate floors have a ecological profile which they display as products that are compatible with healthy living and environmentally friendly. The favourable ecobalance data of wood materials can thus be transferred in principle to laminate floors.
All the components of laminate floors are manufactured without the addition of pesticides, chlororganic compounds and harmful heavy metals.
The disposal of the floors as bulky refuse presents no problems and they can be taken for material or thermal recycling.
In addition, the closed surfaces offer no opportunity for house dust mites and other allergy-causing microorganisms to grow and proliferate. These floor coverings with their good maintenance and cleaning properties are thus especially suited for allergy sufferers.
